Notes on #2 Foch Rosé
This is the wine I served at my son's graduation party. I selected it for that event because it is a crowd pleaser. A fresh, fruity, aromatic wine, low in tannins; perfect for a group including casual to experienced wine drinkers. Also, salmon was featured on the menu and a rosé like this is neither under, nor over-powering with salmon.
Grapes were sourced from Isidore Farm, Vancouver WA USA, in September 2025. No fungicides were used to raise the grapes.
Varietal: Maréchal Foch; pH 3.45; 23 brix
Winemaking notes: the must was handled as is typical for white wine; the grapes were crushed and destemmed immediately after harvest. Only the free run juice was used. Flavor and aroma is often characterized as grapefruit, cranberry, and raspberry with an herbal nose similar to Sauvignon Blanc, which can blend with the fruit to convey the sense of papaya.
